In a troubling development that has shaken the quiet suburban community of Ottawa’s south end, police are investigating after two people were discovered deceased inside a residence on Pheasant Run Drive. The bodies, identified as a 65-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, were found Wednesday morning in what authorities are currently treating as a suspicious death investigation.
According to Ottawa Police Service, officers responded to a call at approximately 9:40 a.m. after a concerned family member was unable to reach the residents and requested a wellness check. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the two individuals with no vital signs.
“At this early stage of the investigation, we are working to determine the circumstances surrounding these deaths,” said Sergeant Marcus Hildebrand of the Ottawa Police Major Crimes Unit. “While we understand the community’s concern, we want to assure residents there is no immediate threat to public safety.”
Forensic investigators were observed entering and exiting the property throughout the day, establishing a perimeter that extended several houses in each direction. The quiet residential street, typically known for its family-friendly atmosphere, was transformed into an active crime scene with multiple police vehicles and the coroner’s van stationed outside the two-story brick home.
